Alagoa Nova Map Poster & Print
Alagoa Nova lies in the interior of Paraíba, in the agreste region, on the uplands of the Borborema plateau. From above, the town is a compact settlement set in rolling country. Its streets follow the gentle rise and fall of the land, and rural roads lead out towards surrounding farms and neighbouring towns, including Campina Grande to the south.
The upland areas of the Borborema are cooler and wetter than the dry sertão further inland. This allows more farming, and the map shows fields, small plots and water reservoirs scattered around the town. The centre follows the familiar pattern of Brazilian country towns, with a main square, a church and streets radiating out from them.
An Alagoa Nova map poster shows a quiet, organised settlement in a landscape of low hills. A central grid, winding country roads and a scattering of small lakes and dams give the image a soft, balanced texture. It is a personal map for people who know the town well, and it records a corner of north-eastern Brazil that most maps skip.

Borborema uplands
The town stands on the Borborema plateau, where rolling hills and a milder climate support farming. Rural roads trace the curves of the land.
Reservoirs and ponds
Small dams and ponds scattered through the countryside appear as rounded open shapes. They break up the pattern of fields and tracks.
