Ria Formosa lagoon
Channels, mudflats and salt marshes spread south of the city in branching patterns, giving the poster a fine, organic texture that contrasts with the built streets.

Faro Map Poster & Print
Faro, the capital of the Algarve, faces south onto the Ria Formosa, a wide lagoon of salt marsh, tidal channels and sandbanks sheltered from the Atlantic by a chain of barrier islands. On a map the city's southern edge is not a clean coastline but a soft, broken fringe where streets end and the marshes begin, with narrow channels winding out toward the open sea.
At the waterfront sits the Cidade Velha, the old town, enclosed by walls and entered through the Arco da Vila. Its short, irregular streets gather around the cathedral square, a compact knot beside the small marina. North and east of it the newer city spreads in a denser pattern of avenues and squares, while the railway runs along the shore between the town and the lagoon.
West of the centre, Faro Airport occupies a large flat site near the lagoon, its runway one of the most distinctive straight lines on the map, and a road bridge leads out to the sands of Praia de Faro. A Faro map poster brings all of this together: old walls, modern blocks, open water and the delicate geometry of the Ria Formosa.

Ilha de Faro
A long, narrow barrier island reached by a single road bridge across the lagoon, drawn as a thin strip of sand between the marshes and the Atlantic.

Faro is often the first place visitors see in the Algarve and, for many, the start of long summers in the south of Portugal. A map of it recalls arrivals, lagoon boat trips and evenings in the old town, framed by water on almost every side of the picture.
The poster can carry your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, and comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint and Sand suit the lagoon particularly well. Digital files cover six print sizes, and printed posters ship from partners in over 30 countries.
