Kyauktan Map Poster & Print
Kyauktan lies in the flat lowlands south-east of Yangon, beyond Thanlyin, where tidal creeks and rivers break the land into long, low strips. From above, the town is a modest cluster of streets pressed against the water, with rice fields and scattered villages spreading out in every direction. The lines on the map are few and quiet, and the water does most of the drawing.
Its best-known sight is the Yele Pagoda, a gilded stupa built on a small island in the river and reached by boat. Pilgrims cross to it every day, and feeding the large catfish that gather around the island is part of the visit. On the map the island reads as a tiny closed shape in midstream, a detail that anchors the whole composition.
A Kyauktan map poster keeps that sparseness intact. Roads run out toward the river crossings and the villages, embankments trace the field edges, and the creeks curve through the frame in unbroken lines. It suits someone who knows the boat ride to the pagoda, or who has family roots in the townships south of Yangon.

Tidal creeks
Winding creeks thread through the surrounding lowland, splitting fields and linking villages. Their loose curves contrast with the straighter lines of the roads and embankments.
Open paddy land
Beyond the edge of town the map opens into wide agricultural land, where sparse roads and field boundaries leave generous white space around the settlement.
