Longfeng is one of the urban districts of Daqing, in western Heilongjiang Province, on the flat Songnen plain. From above it is a patchwork. Residential blocks are laid out in large regular rectangles, and industrial sites are connected by long straight roads. Between them, broad areas of water and wetland break up the built-up land.
Daqing was built around the oilfield discovered in 1959, and Longfeng carries that industrial heritage, with petrochemical works among its main land uses. The district also includes the Longfeng Wetland, an area of reeds and shallow lakes close to the city. Its large irregular shapes stand out among the straight lines of roads and plots elsewhere on the map.
