The railway line
The railway cuts a long, steady line through the town and gives the map its main axis, with the station area forming the most ordered part of the street network.

Mwene-Ditu Map Poster & Print
Mwene-Ditu sits on the high savanna of south-central DR Congo, in Lomami province. Seen from above, the most important line on the map is the railway that runs through the town, part of the long route linking the mining south of the country with the Kasai region. Much of the town grew along and around that line, and the street pattern still follows it.
Mwene-Ditu is a commercial and transport hub for the surrounding farmland, where roads and footpaths from outlying villages meet the railway. Its population has grown quickly, and the town has spread outward in loose neighbourhoods of low houses and courtyards. The layout is less formal toward the edges, where tracks thin out into fields and patches of woodland.
A Mwene-Ditu map poster records a town whose shape is still being made. The straighter streets near the station give way to a finer, more irregular web of lanes in the outer districts, and small streams mark shallow valleys across the plateau. In a minimalist black-and-white print, that mix of order and organic growth becomes a clear and distinctive pattern.

Outer neighbourhoods
Away from the centre, streets become a dense, irregular web of lanes and paths, typical of fast-growing towns and visually rich when rendered in fine black lines.
Savanna plateau
Around the town the land opens into grassland, fields and scattered woodland, leaving wide empty space that frames the built-up area on the poster.
