Ribáuè Map Poster & Print
Ribáuè lies in the interior of Nampula province, on the railway that runs inland from the port of Nacala toward Cuamba and Malawi. From above, the line of the tracks is the clearest organising element: a long, steady stroke that the town gathers around, with a station area, a handful of main roads and lower-density housing thinning out into cultivated plots.
The countryside is defined by inselbergs, the isolated granite domes that rise abruptly from the plains of northern Mozambique, and the mountains that share the town's name stand close by. On a map these appear as gaps and blank ground within the network of routes, while tracks and footpaths wind between them toward villages and fields.
A Ribáuè map poster reduces all of this to line and space: the railway, the few main roads, the finer lanes of the residential quarters and the wide open ground beyond. It suits someone with family ties to Nampula, a stint of work along the Nacala corridor, or simply an interest in how small inland towns take shape along a railway.

Granite inselbergs
Bare rock domes rise from the surrounding plains, leaving irregular gaps in the network of roads and tracks that read as quiet, open shapes in a black-and-white print.
Town and farmland
The built-up area is compact, so the frame also takes in the loose web of paths and plots at the edges, where town gives way to cultivated countryside.

A map of Ribáuè is an unusual thing to own, which is much of its appeal. It records a specific place in northern Mozambique with the same care usually given to capital cities, and it makes a considered gift for anyone who grew up, worked or travelled there.
