Terraced lanes
The streets follow the slope in long parallel lines. This makes the village plan look layered, with each row of houses stepping up above the one below it.

Saint-Véran Map Poster & Print
Saint-Véran sits at about 2,040 metres. It is often described as the highest village in France and one of the highest inhabited villages in Europe. On a map it appears as a compact cluster stretched along a south-facing slope above the valley of the Aigue Blanche. Its lanes run across the hillside instead of straight up it.
The village is part of the Queyras Regional Natural Park and is listed among the Plus Beaux Villages de France. Its traditional houses have stone ground floors and large timber upper storeys that were used for drying hay. A small observatory stands on a nearby summit, where the clear, dry mountain air is good for watching the sky.
A Saint-Véran map poster is spare by nature. The streets are few and short, the ski area is modest, and much of the frame is open mountain crossed by tracks and streams. That openness is the point. The village shows up as a thin band of houses holding onto a large, quiet landscape near the Italian border.

Aigue Blanche valley
The valley below carries the Aigue Blanche stream, and the main road follows it up to the village. It is the clearest route in on the map.
Open high country
Around the village the map empties into pasture, forest and high ground. A few tracks lead toward the head of the valley and the border ridge beyond.

ផែនទីដែលមានអត្ថន័យ
People who have walked its lanes in summer or skied its quiet slopes often want something that captures the altitude and the stillness. A map with so few lines does this well, leaving plenty of white space around a very small place at the top of its valley.
