São Borja Map Poster & Print
São Borja stands on the east bank of the Uruguay River in western Rio Grande do Sul, directly across from Santo Tomé in Argentina. An international bridge links the two countries. From above, the town is a regular grid of square blocks spreading inland from the river, with wide avenues and open land beyond, typical of the flat plains of southern Brazil.
Its history goes back to 1682, when Jesuit missionaries founded São Francisco de Borja as the first of the Seven Peoples of the Missions east of the river. The town is also the birthplace of two Brazilian presidents, Getúlio Vargas and João Goulart. That gives it a special place in the country's political memory, far beyond its size.
A São Borja map poster reads clearly in any style, because the grid is regular and the river forms a strong western edge. It makes a meaningful gift for people from the Missões region, for historians of the Jesuit missions, and for families whose lives have moved back and forth across this border.

Regular grid
Square blocks and straight streets fill the town in an even pattern with few diagonals. This gives the poster a calm, orderly rhythm from edge to edge.
Border bridge
The international crossing to Santo Tomé spans the river as a slender line. It connects two countries within a single sheet and makes the border tangible.

ផែនទីដែលមានអត្ថន័យ
São Borja carries both personal and national history: the missions, the presidents and the everyday life of a border town. A map poster lets you hang that story in its simplest form, as streets and a river, and leaves the meaning to the person who knows the place.
