Shikohābād lies in Firozabad district in western Uttar Pradesh, on the flat Doab between the Ganges and the Yamuna. The town is traditionally said to take its name from the Mughal prince Dara Shikoh, the eldest son of Shah Jahan. Shikohābād Junction is a station on the busy Delhi–Kolkata rail route, and the town lies within easy reach of Firozabad, a city famous across India for its glass bangles and glassware industry.
