Compact town core
The built-up area is small and tightly drawn, so its streets read as a clear, dense cluster against the open ground around it.

Shilongba Map Poster & Print
Shilongba is a small town in the mountains of northern Yunnan, in south-west China. In this part of the province, towns sit wherever the terrain flattens enough to build on: a valley bottom, a terrace or a saddle between ridges. From above, the built-up area is a compact cluster, with steep ground rising on each side.
On a minimalist map this makes for a composition of contrasts. The town's streets form a small, dense knot, and the roads leading out follow the shape of the land, switching back and forth up the slopes or tracing the line of a stream. The empty space around the settlement matters as much as the streets themselves.
A Shilongba map poster suits someone who knows the town personally, whether they were born there, worked there or passed through on a long journey across Yunnan. The print keeps only what the map shows: the lines of streets, the paths of water, and a settlement set into large, quiet mountain country.

Roads shaped by terrain
Routes into and out of town bend with the valleys and slopes. On paper they look like loose hand-drawn curves rather than the straight lines of a planned grid.
Mountain setting
The wide unbuilt margins around the town reflect the high, folded landscape of northern Yunnan, which gives the poster a spare, calm balance of line and space.
