Thomasville lies in Davidson County, North Carolina, in the rolling Piedmont between High Point and Lexington. The town grew up along the North Carolina Railroad, and the tracks still run straight through the centre with the downtown grid laid out on either side. Thomasville built its identity on furniture making and calls itself the Chair City.
