Valley alignment
The town stretches along the valley floor, its streets and buildings following the lie of the land rather than any regular grid laid out on paper.

지도 소개
Anfu Map Poster & Print
Anfu is a town in eastern Gansu Province, in the hilly loess country north of the upper Wei River valley. The land here is made of deep, fine windblown soil, carved by gullies and streams into ridges and valleys, and settlements tend to follow the valley floors, where flat ground and water are easiest to reach.
On a map the town follows this terrain closely. Streets run along the valley in a narrow band, and roads leave it by tracing watercourses or climbing toward the ridges. Around it, the hillsides are shaped by agricultural terraces, a pattern that turns the slopes into visible bands and gives the landscape its distinctive, layered appearance.
This part of Gansu has been farmed for thousands of years, and the wider Tianshui area is linked with some of the oldest traditions in Chinese history. An Anfu map poster presents a quiet corner of that landscape, a linear valley town drawn in crisp lines, well suited to anyone with family ties to the area.

Loess terraces
The surrounding slopes are stepped with farm terraces, and even in simple line form they suggest the characteristic layered hillsides of the loess plateau.
Roads into the hills
Local roads leave the town along side valleys and up toward the ridges, their winding lines contrasting with the compact settlement at the centre.
