Thames waterfront
The broad tidal river forms the northern edge of the map, with the Tilbury shore opposite. Piers and riverside streets meet it along a long, gently curving line.

지도 소개
Gravesend Map Poster & Print
Gravesend is on the south bank of the Thames in north Kent, where the river starts to widen toward its estuary. The river runs across the top of the map as a broad band. Across the water is Tilbury, and a small passenger ferry still links the two banks. The town's streets climb south from the waterfront toward higher ground.
For centuries, Gravesend was where ships on the Thames took on river pilots. Its Town Pier, built in the 1830s, is thought to be the oldest surviving cast-iron pier in the world. Pocahontas died here in 1617 and was buried at St George's Church, where a statue of her now stands.
A Gravesend map poster shows a classic river town. The dense older streets are packed near the water, and later suburbs spread across the rising land to the south. The wide, sweeping Thames gives the whole design a strong horizontal base.

Town Pier
The historic cast-iron pier projects into the river from the old town. It is a small but clear mark on the waterfront.
Rising old town
From the river, narrow historic streets run uphill toward the town centre. Their close pattern contrasts with the looser suburbs farther south.

왜 Gravesend인가
의미가 담긴 지도
Gravesend means something to anyone who grew up by the estuary, took the ferry across to Essex or has family in north Kent. The river gives the poster a sense of place that no other part of the county has.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint especially brings out the town's maritime past.
