Kamba is a town in Kebbi State, in the north-western corner of Nigeria, and the headquarters of Dandi Local Government Area. It lies very close to the borders with both Benin and Niger, in open savanna country where the landscape begins to give way to the drier Sahel. The map shows a compact settlement set within a wide, lightly marked landscape.
Towns in this part of Kebbi are traditionally built with close-set compounds and narrow passages, and the older core appears as a fine, dense texture. Around it, farmland used for grains such as millet and sorghum spreads across the plain, crossed by tracks and seasonal watercourses. The Niger River flows through the wider region, bringing a major river system within reach of this dry corner.
