L'Alfàs del Pi is on the Costa Blanca in the province of Alicante, between Benidorm and Altea. The old village centre lies a little inland, and the municipality reaches the sea at l'Albir. From above, the pattern is clearly Mediterranean: a compact core, then winding residential streets that climb and curl across the slopes toward the coast.
The southern edge is set by the Serra Gelada, a steep coastal ridge protected as a natural park, with the l'Albir lighthouse at the end of its path. On a map the ridge is a large empty wedge beside the dense street patterns. That contrast gives the composition a clear anchor and a strong sense of the terrain.
The town is known for its large community of northern European residents, particularly from Norway, and for a long-running film festival held each summer.
