지도 소개
Magṭa‘ Laḥjar Map Poster & Print
Magṭa‘ Laḥjar is a town in the Brakna region of southern Mauritania, in the Sahel belt between the Sahara and the Senegal River valley. It sits on the long national road that runs east from Nouakchott into the interior, and the highway is the strongest line on the map. The town is arranged along it and around it.
Away from the road, the street pattern is loose and open. Compounds are spaced across sandy ground, and tracks run between them rather than paved streets. The land around the town is dry, with sand and rocky terrain, and it is sparsely marked on any map.
A Magṭa‘ Laḥjar map poster reflects that openness: one firm road, a low-density scatter of streets and tracks, and a lot of empty space. The result is spare and graphic, and it is shaped more by distance and climate than by planning.

Open compound layout
Houses and compounds are spread out with wide gaps between them. The street pattern is loose and irregular, with a very different texture from a dense city grid.
Sahel emptiness
Sand and dry ground surround the town. On the map, this appears as blank space that shows how isolated and exposed the settlement is.
