Mnihla lies in the Ariana Governorate, on the northwestern fringe of Greater Tunis. Like many districts around the capital, it grew rapidly in recent decades as families built homes outside the city centre. On the map, this growth shows as a dense, fine-grained pattern of small plots and narrow streets, packed closely together.
The streets are not laid out on a single master plan, so the fabric shifts from block to block. Some areas are fairly regular, while others bend and branch as they follow old field boundaries and paths. A few wider roads cross the district and connect it to Ariana and central Tunis.
