Onex Map Poster & Print
Onex is a municipality on the southwestern edge of Geneva, on the left bank of the Rhône. From above, it is compact and clearly divided into areas. Large apartment blocks from the post-war expansion stand beside quieter quarters of villas and gardens, and main roads and a tram line connect it to the centre of Geneva.
The northern edge slopes down toward the river, and wooded ground softens the transition from town to water. On a black-and-white map, the contrast between the large, geometric footprints of the housing estates and the finer grain of individual houses gives Onex its particular texture. Green spaces and small parks break up the density.
