Thika Superhighway
The multi-lane road to Nairobi runs as one of the heaviest, straightest lines on the sheet, giving the composition a strong diagonal anchor against the softer lines of the town.

지도 소개
Thika Map Poster
From above, Thika sits on gently rising ground north-east of Nairobi. The Chania and Thika rivers wind around its edges, and their valleys trace darker, irregular lines through the grid of the town. A compact commercial centre gives way to looser residential blocks and industrial plots, and the pattern thins out into farmland on every side.
The most obvious line on the map is the Thika Road superhighway, which runs as a broad, confident stroke towards the capital. Around it, the street plan is practical rather than planned for show. Short blocks, roundabouts and feeder roads connect the old centre to newer estates, and the waterfalls on the rivers just outside town appear as small breaks in the curving watercourses.
Thika is known well beyond Kenya through Elspeth Huxley's memoir The Flame Trees of Thika, and locally for the pineapple plantations and processing industry that shaped its growth. A Thika map poster keeps all of this in outline: rivers, highway and town grid reduced to fine black lines, with the green of the surrounding farmland left to memory.

Two river valleys
The Chania and Thika rivers curve around the town in narrow, meandering lines, framing the built-up area and adding natural movement to an otherwise practical street plan.
Farmland margins
At the edges of the poster the dense town grid dissolves into widely spaced rural roads, a clear visual record of where the town ends and the plantations begin.

왜 Thika인가
의미가 담긴 지도
People hang Thika on the wall because it was where they studied, worked or grew up, often in the orbit of Nairobi but with a town of its own. The map shows that relationship honestly: the highway pulling south, the rivers holding the town in place.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a family name or a meaningful date, and choose from five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. It is available as a $9 HD download or as a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
