Grand Canal bend
The southern section of the Grand Canal passes through the town in a series of gentle meanders, a single curving ribbon that anchors the whole map and separates old lanes from newer blocks.

지도 소개
Yangliuqing Map Poster & Print
Yangliuqing sits on the western edge of Tianjin, and the first line the eye follows on its map is the Grand Canal. Its southern stretch loops past the old town in slow curves, and the historic lanes gather along the bank. Around them spread the straighter blocks of newer housing and the broad roads of Xiqing District, which tie the town to the city centre.
The town gave its name to Yangliuqing woodblock prints, the colourful New Year pictures that Chinese households pasted on doors and walls for centuries. The craft is listed among China's national intangible heritage. Another landmark is the Shi Family Courtyard, a large merchant compound whose many courtyards appear on a detailed map as a tight cluster of rectangles.
A Yangliuqing map poster works well because two scales meet in one frame: the fine grain of the canal-side quarter and the wide, orderly layout of the modern district. Printed in black and white, the canal becomes the one soft curve among straight lines, which gives the composition a natural centre without any decoration added.

Old town lanes
Close to the water the streets narrow into short lanes and small courtyard blocks, a denser texture that stands apart from the wide avenues laid out later around it.
Shi Family Courtyard
The merchant compound of the Shi family forms a compact cluster of walled courtyards, one of the most recognisable shapes at street scale and a link to the town's trading past.

왜 Yangliuqing인가
의미가 담긴 지도
People hang Yangliuqing for a family origin in Tianjin, a place of study, or an affection for canal towns and folk printing. The map carries the same qualities the woodblock prints are known for: clear outlines, calm spacing and a strong centre, here provided by the canal.
You can set your own title and subtitle, add a date or keep the coordinates line, and choose from five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. A free watermarked preview shows the result before you buy the $9 HD files or a printed poster.
