Yinma lies in Shandong province in eastern China, on the broad, level land that stretches across much of the province's interior. From above, the landscape around it is defined by agriculture: rectangular fields, long straight roads and small settlements scattered at regular intervals, with the town itself forming a denser patch of streets within that pattern.
Because the terrain is flat, the road network follows practical lines rather than contours. Main roads run through the town in fairly direct routes, and newer blocks of housing and workplaces tend to be laid out in orderly rectangles. Irrigation channels and minor waterways, common across this part of Shandong, add thin lines between the fields.
