Roman bridge

Andújar Map Poster & Print
Andújar lies in the province of Jaén in Andalusia, on the north bank of the Guadalquivir River. The old town is a compact knot of narrow, irregular streets around its churches and squares, surrounded by newer neighbourhoods with a more regular layout. The river curves along the southern side, and a long bridge of Roman origin, rebuilt over the centuries, still crosses it.
North of the town rises the Sierra de Andújar, a natural park of granite hills, oak woodland and scrub that is one of the key refuges of the Iberian lynx. Deep in the sierra stands the sanctuary of the Virgen de la Cabeza, the destination of a large pilgrimage each April. Around Andújar itself, the plain is covered in olive groves.
An Andújar map poster sets the dense old town against the broad curve of the river and the fields that stretch around it. The historic centre becomes a fine mesh of lines, the bridge a clear crossing, and the roads leading into the sierra and across the plain give the composition its reach. The balance of town and landscape is typical of inland Andalusia.

Old town mesh
The historic centre is a maze of narrow streets and small squares, the densest area of the map and a clear contrast to the newer districts around it.
The Guadalquivir
The river bends past the town in a wide curve, giving the map a strong natural boundary and linking Andújar to the rest of the valley.

Firwat Andújar
Eng Kaart, déi eppes bedeit
Andújar means a great deal to people who grew up there, to those who walk to the sanctuary each spring and to families who have tended olive groves in the area. A map of the town is a personal way to keep that connection close.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a name, a year or the date of a pilgrimage, and edit the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Printed posters on matte paper can come with a wooden frame, or download the HD files for $9.
