Héliopolis Map Poster & Print
Héliopolis lies in Guelma province in northeastern Algeria, a short distance from the provincial capital. The area is part of the Seybouse valley, a green, agricultural basin framed by hills. The town is spread over relatively gentle ground, with a central grid of streets and roads linking it to Guelma and the surrounding countryside.
Its name, borrowed from the Greek for city of the sun, sets it apart from its neighbours, although the town itself is a modest regional community rather than a place of monuments. Agriculture shapes the surrounding land, and the connection with Guelma shapes its daily life.
A Héliopolis map poster shows a compact town in an open valley. The regular streets at the centre give way to roads that run out between the fields, and higher ground rises around the edges. In black and white the layout is clean and legible, a quiet portrait of a place defined by its valley setting.
