Júlio de Castilhos Map Poster & Print
Júlio de Castilhos lies in the central highlands of Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil, on the plateau north of Santa Maria. From above, the town is a regular grid of rectangular blocks, laid out in the planned manner common to towns of the region, with a few main avenues leading out to the highways that cross the surrounding countryside.
The town is named after Júlio de Castilhos, the republican politician who governed Rio Grande do Sul in the 1890s and shaped the state's political life for decades. The land around it is devoted largely to farming, especially soybeans and other grains, and the fields form broad, open shapes that contrast with the fine lines of the urban grid.
A Júlio de Castilhos map poster appeals to people from the town and the central region of the state, including those now living in Porto Alegre or further away. The clean grid and the long, straight roads leading out into the fields make an orderly composition that suits a study, a living room or an office.

Farmland surroundings
Beyond the edge of town, large fields of grain and soy spread across the plateau, their open shapes leaving generous space around the built area.
Highway connections
Roads leave the grid in long straight lines toward the neighbouring towns of the region, giving the map a few strong axes that extend beyond the frame.
