Kowloon City is one of Hong Kong's eighteen districts, and its map covers a surprising range of urban forms. In the east, the former Kai Tak airport runway projects into Kowloon Bay as a long, narrow strip, now redeveloped with a cruise terminal, parkland and new housing.
