Leyland lies in Lancashire, just south of Preston, and its name travelled around the world on the side of buses and lorries. From above the town is a broad spread of residential streets, cul-de-sacs and crescents, framed by major roads and cut through by the West Coast railway line, with the motorway network running close by to the east.
Vehicle manufacturing defined Leyland for more than a century, and the story is still kept in the town through truck production and the British Commercial Vehicle Museum.
