Mors sits in the middle of the Limfjord, the long waterway that crosses northern Jutland. From above the island is broad and compact, with a coastline of shallow bays, spits and small inlets. Farmland covers most of the interior, cut up by country roads that run between villages and converge on the one real town.
That town is Nykøbing Mors, on the east coast facing the Sallingsund. Its small grid of streets and its harbour are the densest part of any map of the island. Two bridges link Mors to the mainland: the Sallingsund Bridge to the southeast and the Vilsund Bridge to the northwest, both drawn as thin lines across the fjord.
