Nichelino lies directly south of Turin, separated from the city by the Sangone torrent on its northern edge. The Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi, a Savoy hunting lodge designed by Filippo Juvarra in the eighteenth century, is part of the UNESCO World Heritage listing of the Residences of the Royal House of Savoy. Its star-shaped plan and surrounding park are unmistakable from above.
