Sloping grid
Streets follow a regular pattern laid over a steady incline, so the map combines ordered blocks with edges shaped by the fall of the land.

Xico Map Poster & Print
Xico lies in the highlands of central Veracruz, a short distance south of Xalapa, on the lower slopes of the Cofre de Perote. The terrain drops steadily from the mountain toward the lowlands, and the town sits on this incline, its grid of streets tilted down the slope and cut here and there by ravines where streams descend through the countryside.
The surrounding land is known for shade-grown coffee, and the map shows the town giving way to a patchwork of farms, forest and small roads. Nearby, the Texolo waterfall drops into a deep, wooded gorge, one of the best-known natural features of the area. Xico is also recognised as one of Mexico's Pueblos Mágicos.
Each July the town honours its patron, Mary Magdalene, with processions over long carpets made of flowers and coloured sawdust, and its cooking is known for a distinctive local mole. A Xico map poster shows the setting of those traditions: a sloping grid around the main square, and the ravines and farms that surround it.

Texolo waterfall
The waterfall and its wooded gorge lie just outside the town, a deep cut in the landscape that shows on the map as a winding line through open country.
Coffee country
Farms and forest cover the slopes around Xico, giving the edges of the poster a fine, irregular texture of paths and small roads.

Eng Kaart, déi eppes bedeit
A map of Xico suits people from the town and the Xalapa region, as well as travellers who came for the festival, the coffee or the waterfall. The slope and the ravines give the grid a character that a flat town never has.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a festival year or a family name, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 download covers six sizes, and printed posters are made on matte paper.
