Anlu is a county-level city in Xiaogan, in eastern Hubei, where the hills of the north give way to the Jianghan plain. The Fu River flows through the area, and the city has grown along its banks. Anlu is widely known as a home of the ginkgo. Old ginkgo trees grow throughout the surrounding countryside, and the city is associated with them in regional identity.
