Bear Map Poster & Print
Bear is a census-designated place in New Castle County, Delaware, south of Newark and Wilmington. Unlike an old town with a single centre, Bear grew as a collection of residential neighbourhoods, and from above it shows the curving streets, cul-de-sacs and loops of late twentieth-century suburban planning.
Major roads run through the area and give the map its structure, connecting the subdivisions to shopping centres and the wider region. To the south lies the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal, and Lums Pond State Park, with its large pond and woodland, sits nearby as the biggest open space in the area.
A Bear map poster turns this suburban pattern into something unexpectedly graphic. The looping streets form repeating shapes, almost like fingerprints, and the straight arterial roads cut between them. It is a map of where many people actually live, drawn with care rather than dismissed as sprawl.

Arterial roads
Straight main roads cross the area and link the neighbourhoods together, creating a clear framework for the finer residential lines.
Lums Pond nearby
The state park and its pond form the largest open, natural area close to Bear, adding a calm, irregular shape to the wider map.

Suburban neighbourhoods are where many people spend their childhood and raise their own families, and a map of Bear can pinpoint exactly that street. It makes a thoughtful housewarming or moving-away gift for anyone connected to New Castle County.
The title, subtitle and coordinates are editable, so you can add your neighbourhood name or the year you moved in. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Noir suits the dense, curving street patterns.
