Careiro Map Poster & Print
Careiro is a municipality in the Brazilian state of Amazonas, south of Manaus across the great river system that defines the region. Its town sits along the BR-319 highway, one of the few roads that reaches into this part of the Amazon. From above, a thin line of asphalt and a small street network are almost the only straight marks in a world of curves.
Water shapes everything here. Rivers meander in loops, lakes fill abandoned bends, and seasonal floodplains change the landscape through the year. On a map, these features appear as organic, flowing forms that surround the town and give it a very different character from any grid-planned city.
A Careiro map poster is an image of contrast: human geometry held inside the vast pattern of the rainforest and its waterways. In black and white, the rivers become bold sweeping shapes and the road a precise line cutting through them. It suits anyone drawn to maps where nature, rather than streets, sets the composition.

Meandering rivers
Looping channels and oxbow lakes curve around the town, forming the dominant shapes on the poster and giving it a fluid, almost hand-drawn quality.
Small street network
The town itself is a compact pattern of streets beside the highway, a small, orderly cluster set against the irregular edges of forest and water.
