Homagama is a suburban town in the Colombo District of Sri Lanka's Western Province, southeast of the capital. It lies along the High Level Road, one of the main routes leading inland from Colombo, and on the map this road forms a strong spine through the town.
Around the centre, the map shows the typical pattern of the Colombo hinterland: winding lanes following the contours of low hills, patches of paddy fields in the valleys and scattered water bodies. As the metropolitan area has grown, new housing has filled much of this landscape.
