Moca Map Poster & Print
Moca is the capital of Espaillat Province in the north of the Dominican Republic, in the fertile Cibao valley near Santiago. From above, the town has a clear grid of streets around its central park and church. Neighbourhoods spread outwards in a less regular pattern, and roads lead away across a green landscape of small farms and low hills.
The area is known for agriculture, especially coffee, cocoa and other crops grown in the rich soils of the Cibao. Moca also has a notable place in Dominican history. In 1899 the dictator Ulises Heureaux was assassinated in the town, and the event is remembered locally. The town's Sacred Heart church is another familiar landmark in the centre.
A Moca map poster shows a classic Caribbean provincial town. There is a gridded core, a looser ring of later growth, and roads running out into countryside. The composition is balanced and legible, and it shows the orderly Spanish colonial plan clearly at its heart.

Outer neighbourhoods
Beyond the centre, streets become more irregular as they follow the land. They create a softer, organic ring of residential areas.
Cibao countryside
Roads and farm tracks cross the fertile valley around the town. They lead through small farms and hills towards Santiago and nearby towns.
