Naugachhia Map Poster & Print
Naugachhia lies in Bhagalpur district of Bihar, on the north side of the Ganges, where the land is flat and shaped by water. From above the town is a compact cluster of streets and markets, surrounded by fields and crossed by roads and a railway line. Beyond it, the floodplain stretches out with old river channels, ponds and embankments.
Rivers are central here. The Ganges runs to the south, and the Kosi, one of India's most mobile rivers, joins the Ganges not far to the east. Their shifting channels have left traces across the land, and on the map these appear as curves and oxbows between the fields, a landscape constantly redrawn by floods.
A Naugachhia map poster captures a town set in a watery, open plain: a dense centre, straight roads and rail, and loose, curving lines of old rivers around them. It is a picture of north Bihar as it really looks from above, rather than a showcase of monuments.

Floodplain channels
Old river courses, ponds and oxbow shapes are scattered across the fields. They give the poster curving, organic lines around the town.
Rail and road
A railway line and main roads cross the plain in long straight lines, linking the town to the rest of Bihar and contrasting with the curves of the rivers.
