Subdivision pockets
Each neighbourhood forms a self-contained cluster of curving streets and cul-de-sacs. On the poster they look like separate cells within a larger pattern.

Northdale Map Poster & Print
Northdale lies in Hillsborough County, Florida, in the suburban belt north of Tampa. Its map is defined by the contrast between a few long, straight roads and the curving streets of the neighbourhoods between them. Each subdivision forms its own pocket, entered from the main roads and closed off by cul-de-sacs and loops.
Water is everywhere in this part of Florida: small lakes, ponds and wetlands fill gaps between the houses and give the plan its irregular edges. On a Northdale map poster, these patches of water break up the residential blocks and lend the composition a soft, rhythmic pattern.
The area developed mainly from the 1970s onward, as Tampa's suburbs spread north, and most streets date from that period of subdivision building. Parks, schools and shopping centres cluster near the main road junctions. In black and white, the pockets of streets, the pale water and the straight arterials form a clear, balanced image.

Scattered water
Ponds, lakes and wetlands fill the gaps between neighbourhoods. Their irregular shapes soften the map and are typical of the Tampa Bay suburbs.
Main junctions
Shops, schools and parks gather near the crossings of the main roads. These junctions form the busiest points of an otherwise quiet residential plan.
