Saundatti Map Poster & Print
Saundatti lies in the Belagavi district of northern Karnataka, in open, dry country broken by rocky hills. From above, the town appears as a compact cluster of streets, with the older, denser core at its heart and newer areas spreading along the main roads. The surrounding land is agricultural, crossed by field boundaries and tracks.
The town is best known for its closeness to the Yellamma temple, which stands on a hill a few kilometres away and draws very large numbers of pilgrims during annual festivals. The hills near Saundatti also hold the remains of an old fort, and the Malaprabha river flows through the wider area, with a large reservoir not far away.
A Saundatti map poster shows the town, its roads and the hilly land around it in clear black and white. It is a fitting gift for families from Belagavi district, for pilgrims who have made the journey to the temple, and for anyone with memories of northern Karnataka. The pattern of roads and hills gives the map a sense of place.
