Sürmene Map Poster & Print
Sürmene lies on the eastern Black Sea coast of Turkey, east of Trabzon. Its map is shaped by a pinch of land. The town stretches along a thin strip between the sea and steep hills, with the coastal highway and shoreline running almost side by side. Behind them, streets climb quickly into the slopes.
Streams come down from the mountains in narrow valleys, each one drawing a line of roads and houses inland. The hillsides are known for tea gardens and hazelnut groves. The town is famous across Turkey for its hand-forged knives, the Sürmene bıçağı, and for the Memiş Ağa Mansion, a fortified nineteenth-century house near the coast.
A Sürmene map poster emphasises this linear, coast-bound form: a smooth shoreline, the coastal road beside it, and short, twisting lanes branching uphill into the valleys. The blank sea on one side and the dense contours of settlement on the other make for a strong, balanced composition.

Sürmene is a place of the sea, the steep green hills and a long craft tradition. A map of its coast suits someone from the Trabzon region, a knife enthusiast, or anyone who has driven that shoreline road and wanted to remember it.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, in Turkish or English. Choose one of five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Noir renders the dark Black Sea especially well.
