Kombo urban belt
Sukuta merges with the neighbouring towns into one continuous built-up area, so on the map its streets flow directly into those around it.

Sukuta Map Poster & Print
Sukuta is in the Western Region of The Gambia, in the Kombo area south-west of Banjul. It forms part of the continuous urban belt that has grown out from Banjul and Serekunda along the main roads towards the interior. On the map it is hard to see where Sukuta ends and its neighbours begin, since the built-up area runs from one town into the next.
The Atlantic coast lies a short distance to the west, and main roads running through the Kombo region pass through or near the town. Between them the streets form a dense, partly irregular network of compounds and lanes, with some areas laid out more regularly where growth was planned.
The town has grown quickly in recent decades as people have moved towards the coastal urban area. A Sukuta map poster captures that dense, busy fabric of lanes and compounds, with the main roads cutting through it and open land still visible at the edges.

Compound lanes
Much of the town is made up of family compounds reached by narrow lanes, creating a dense, fine-grained texture from above.
Main roads
Main roads through the Kombo region cross the town in long lines, linking it with Serekunda, Brikama and the coast.

Many Gambians abroad keep close ties to the family compound at home. A map of Sukuta is a way of keeping that place in view, and it makes a considerate gift for a relative in Europe, the United States or elsewhere.
Add a title and subtitle, perhaps a family name or a year, and edit the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
