Yasu Map Poster & Print
Yasu lies on the south-eastern side of Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture. From above, the city spreads across a broad, flat plain that slopes gently toward the lake. Rice fields break the built-up areas into patches, and the shoreline forms a long, soft edge along the north-western side of the map.
The Yasu River, one of the larger rivers flowing into Lake Biwa, crosses the plain on its way to the lake, its embanked channel cutting a clear diagonal through the fields. To the south rises Mount Mikami, a symmetrical peak often called the Fuji of Omi, which gives the otherwise level landscape a single strong point of reference.
The area is also known for archaeology: a large number of dotaku, ancient bronze bells, have been found in the hills here. A Yasu map poster brings together these layers, the lake, the river, the mountain and the patchwork of neighbourhoods and fields between them.

Yasu River
An embanked river crosses the plain toward the lake, a strong diagonal line that divides the settled areas and the fields around them.
Mount Mikami
A neat conical hill to the south, known as the Fuji of Omi. Roads curve around its base while the slopes stay almost empty on the map.

ແຜນທີ່ທີ່ມີຄວາມໝາຍ
Yasu appeals to people who know the quieter side of Kansai: the lakeside plain, the river, the view of Mount Mikami from the fields. A map of the city holds that landscape in a simple, balanced form that works equally well in a modern flat or a traditional room.
