Valley roads
Roads follow the low ground between hills, curving and branching instead of forming a grid. They give the map a flowing, irregular structure.

Yunjin Map Poster & Print
Yunjin is a town in the southern Sichuan Basin in China, an area of low, rounded hills, small rivers and intensively farmed land. On a map, this terrain shapes everything. Roads rarely run straight for long. They bend with the valleys and around the hills, while the built-up area gathers wherever the land becomes flat enough for streets and blocks.
The countryside around towns like this is typically cut into terraces and small fields. Ponds and reservoirs fill the hollows, and villages are scattered along the ridges and valley floors. At poster scale, this creates a dense organic texture in which the town centre is a tighter knot of streets inside a much larger web of lanes and waterways.
A Yunjin map poster shows how a settlement adapts to hilly land instead of flattening it. The main roads provide the strongest lines, the waterways add softer curves, and the gaps between them show the shape of the hills without the need for contour lines. In black and white, the result is closer to a natural drawing than a city plan.

Compact centre
Where the land flattens out, the streets tighten into a small dense core, the darkest part of the poster and the natural focal point.
Hill country
Around the town, lanes, ponds and field boundaries fill the spaces between the hills and create a fine texture across the edges of the map.

A map of a home town in Sichuan can mean a great deal to people who have moved to larger cities or abroad. The winding roads and the small centre become a record of where someone started.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are all editable, so the poster can carry a name, a date or a few words in any language. Choose one of five styles, from Classic black & white to Sand.
