The railway spine
The Brighton main line runs roughly north to south through the town. On the poster it reads as a single confident line, and the station area forms the natural focus of the surrounding streets.

Haywards Heath Map Poster & Print
Haywards Heath is a market and commuter town in Mid Sussex, and its plan still shows where it came from. Before the London to Brighton railway arrived in the 1840s, there was little here beyond a heath and scattered farms. The line runs through the town in a cutting, and most of the streets that followed grew outward from the station. As a result, the centre points toward the tracks.
From above, the older roads around the station and the shopping streets form a compact core. Later estates spread east and west in curving closes and crescents. Pockets of green break up the housing, including parks and what remains of the original heath. The Sussex countryside presses close on every side, with field boundaries and woodland visible right up to the edge of town.
A Haywards Heath map poster reduces all of this to line and space: the straight stroke of the railway, the loose web of residential streets and the quieter blank areas of fields and parkland. It suits anyone who commuted from here, grew up on one of those crescents or still thinks of the town as the stop between London and the coast.

Curving residential closes
Twentieth century housing wraps around the centre in crescents and cul-de-sacs. From above the pattern looks almost organic, in contrast with the straighter older roads near the station.
Green edges
Parks, commons and farmland frame the built-up area, so the town appears as a defined shape set within the open Sussex landscape rather than merging into a neighbour.

Kāpēc Haywards Heath
Karte ar nozīmi
People hang this map because it records an ordinary, lived-in place precisely: the route to the station, the road to school, the park at the end of the street. It works as a quiet reminder of home or of a first house outside London.
You can set your own title and subtitle, adjust the coordinates line and choose from Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The digital HD files cost $9 and include six print sizes, each as a 300 DPI PNG and a print-ready PDF, without a watermark.
