Daund is a town in Pune district, Maharashtra, around 75 kilometres east of Pune on the banks of the Bhima river. The railway shapes its plan more than anything else. Daund Junction is one of the most important railway hubs in the region. It is where the line from Pune toward Solapur and southern India meets the route north toward Ahmednagar and Manmad.
