Hilltop historic centre
The old town on the hill forms a tight cluster of short, irregular streets, clearly different from the regular blocks by the sea and easy to find on the print.

Giulianova Map Poster & Print
Giulianova is really two towns in one. The historic centre sits on a hill a short distance back from the coast, with a compact knot of streets around its main church. Below it, a newer district stretches along the Adriatic in parallel bands: the beach, the seafront promenade, the railway and the streets behind them.
The town was founded in the fifteenth century by Giulio Antonio Acquaviva, from whom it takes its name, as a new settlement on higher ground. Its cathedral of San Flaviano, with an octagonal plan and dome, is the landmark of the upper town. Today the harbour and beaches make it one of the familiar resorts of the Abruzzo coast.
A Giulianova map poster shows the contrast between the two parts. The dense upper town looks like a small cluster of lines on the hill, while the lower town forms long straight strips that follow the shoreline. The sea takes up one side of the frame, giving the composition a clean edge.

Seafront and railway bands
Beach, promenade, railway and parallel streets run side by side along the coast, drawing a series of long straight lines that define the lower town.
Harbour
The harbour's breakwaters extend into the Adriatic as crisp geometric shapes, breaking up the smooth line of the coast at the edge of the seaside district.

Many people know Giulianova from summer holidays, family visits or years spent on the coast of Abruzzo. The poster brings together the hill and the sea, the two sides of the town that visitors and residents both remember.
Write your own title, add a summer or a wedding date in the subtitle, and keep or edit the coordinates. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand works well for a seaside town like this one.
