Onga River
The river runs north through the city in a broad channel with long embankments. It is the clearest natural line on the poster, and the centre is built around it.

Iizuka Map Poster & Print
Iizuka lies in the Chikuho region of inland Fukuoka Prefecture, in a basin ringed by forested hills. The Onga River runs north through the city, and the densest streets gather along its banks. Railway lines and main roads follow the valley floor. Away from the centre, housing spreads into side valleys and up the lower slopes, while the ridgelines stay largely empty.
From the late nineteenth century to the mid twentieth, Chikuho was one of Japan's most important coalfields. Iizuka grew as the commercial centre for the mining towns around it. The Kaho Gekijo, a traditional wooden kabuki theatre from that period, still stands in the city and is still used for performances. Earlier, Iizuka was a post town on the old Nagasaki Kaido road.
An Iizuka map poster traces a city shaped by water and terrain: river channels, embankments, railway lines and roads squeezed into the valley, with quieter residential streets reaching into the hills. It is an understated print for anyone connected to Chikuho, whether through a family history in the mines or years of study in the city.

Valley railway
Rail lines follow the valley floor through Iizuka, linking the city to Fukuoka and Kitakyushu along routes that once carried coal out of the basin.
Hillside fringes
Residential streets climb into side valleys and fade out below forested ridges, giving the edges of the map a soft, branching outline.

Many families trace their story to the Chikuho mines, and many graduates remember Iizuka as the city of their university years. A title in your own words, a subtitle with a year and the coordinates line turn the map into a personal record of that time.
Paper and Sand suit a warm Japanese interior, Noir and Blueprint bring sharper contrast, and Classic black and white sits in between. A free 900 px preview shows the result before you buy the $9 HD files or order a printed poster.
