Litoměřice Map Poster & Print
Litoměřice lies in northern Bohemia, where the Ohře river flows into the Elbe, at the edge of a fertile lowland often called the Garden of Bohemia. The old town sits above the Elbe. From above, its most notable feature is the vast rectangular market square, one of the largest in the Czech Republic, surrounded by a regular grid of medieval streets.
The town has been the seat of a Catholic bishopric since the seventeenth century, and St Stephen's Cathedral stands on Cathedral Hill at one end of the old town. On the square, the town hall and the Chalice House, with a chalice-shaped feature on its roof, are local landmarks. The poet Karel Hynek Mácha spent his last days here.
A Litoměřice map poster shows the order of a planned medieval town at a river confluence. The grid and square form a clear centre, the line of the former walls still shapes the streets around it, and the broad Elbe with its bridge completes the composition. Vineyards and orchards on the surrounding slopes soften the edges of the print.

Elbe and Ohře
The two rivers meet just by the town, and the broad curve of the Elbe with its bridge forms the southern edge of the historic centre.
Cathedral Hill
St Stephen's Cathedral and the bishop's buildings occupy a raised corner of the old town, a distinct cluster of larger footprints above the river.
