Ludwigsburg Map Poster & Print
Ludwigsburg, just north of Stuttgart, was founded in the early eighteenth century by Duke Eberhard Ludwig of Württemberg as a residence town, and its map still shows that intention. Long, straight streets run at right angles, a large central market square sits in the middle and the vast Residential Palace with its gardens dominates the eastern side.
The palace grounds, now known as the Blühendes Barock gardens, form a large, formal block of paths and parterres. Tree-lined avenues lead north to the smaller Favorite hunting lodge and on toward Monrepos, a lake palace set in parkland. The Neckar river curves past to the east, giving the town a natural edge.
A Ludwigsburg map poster shows how clearly a baroque plan can survive three centuries of growth. The straight axes, the market square and the palace park come through sharply in black and white, making it a strong choice for residents, former students and anyone drawn to planned cities.

Baroque street grid
The old town follows a regular plan of straight streets meeting at right angles around the market square, a legacy of its founding as a ducal residence.
Avenue to Favorite
A straight avenue and park strip run north from the palace to the Favorite hunting lodge, extending the baroque axis beyond the town centre.

Ludwigsburg is one of those places where the map itself is the attraction. Hanging it shows an appreciation for planned architecture and the orderly lines a duke once drew across open land.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a move-in date or a wedding at the palace. Choose Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, as HD files for $9 or a printed poster.
