From above, Mut reads as a town shaped by its valley. Streets gather on the flatter ground near the Göksu River, then thin out where orchards and fields begin. The surrounding terrain is visible even in a line drawing: roads bend to follow contours, and the built area stops where the slopes of the Taurus Mountains take over.
Mut sits in the interior of Mersin province, on the route between the Mediterranean coast and the Anatolian plateau.
