Factory ponds
Dams built for the early ironworks created ponds that anchor both halves of town. On the map they are the largest shapes, and the streets are drawn around them.

Polevskoy Map Poster & Print
Polevskoy lies in the forested hills of the Middle Urals, south of Yekaterinburg. It is not one compact settlement. The town has a northern part and a southern part, each grown around its own industrial works and its own dammed pond, with a stretch of road and woodland between them. From above, the outline looks stretched and patchy, set among lakes and trees.
The area has been mined and smelted since the eighteenth century, and its copper and malachite deposits entered Russian folklore. Pavel Bazhov set many of the tales in The Malachite Box around Polevskoy. They include the stories of the Mistress of the Copper Mountain, and local place names still echo them. Metalworking remains central to the town today.
A Polevskoy map poster captures that Ural pattern. Water sits behind old dams, the residential streets curve around the ponds, and large industrial sites have their own geometry. Forest roads connect it all. It is a subtle composition that rewards a closer look, and it suits anyone who knows the town or loves the landscape of Bazhov's stories.

Two-part town
The northern and southern districts grew separately and are linked by road through woodland. The layout gives the poster an unusual, split composition.
Bazhov country
The hills and old mine workings around Polevskoy are the setting for Bazhov's Ural tales. That literary link gives this small town wide recognition across Russia.
