Tsushima Map Poster & Print
Tsushima lies on the Nobi Plain in western Aichi, a short train ride west of Nagoya. The land is almost completely flat and low, crossed by rivers and old drainage channels flowing toward Ise Bay, and the city's map is a dense, even mesh of residential lanes interrupted by rail lines, a few wider avenues and scattered pockets of farmland.
Tsushima Shrine, head of many Tsushima shrines across Japan, is the historic heart of the city, and the old town grew up around it as a shrine town and river port. The Owari Tsushima Tenno Festival, with boats hung with lanterns on the Tenno River pond, belongs to a UNESCO-listed group of Japanese float festivals.
For a map, the result is a fine-grained, almost textile pattern: narrow streets packed closely together, with the shrine grounds and the pond standing out as rare open shapes. A Tsushima map poster brings out that density, and it rewards a close look at the older lanes where the shrine town first took shape centuries ago.

Tenno River pond
The pond in Tenno Park, once part of a river, appears as a curved open shape among the lanes and is the setting for the summer festival.
Plain and channels
Flat ground crossed by small waterways and rail lines gives the outer sheet a regular, finely divided texture typical of the Nobi Plain.

Tsushima suits those who grew up in western Aichi, or who have watched the lantern boats on a summer night. The intricate lanes make a detailed, quietly striking print that holds up well at larger sizes.
